Open House Milan

The first edition of Open House Milano will take place on the 13-14 of May. During the weekend we’ll open a list of places, from iconic architectural sites to unknown places such as architecture and artist’s studios, university residences and new working spaces and private homes. We’ll discover an unexpected city, divided into the ancient districts that characterized Milan, while creating a path between contemporary and modern, which extends into the Milan of the future. Starting from close to Piazza del Duomo, the earth of Milano, six slices of the same apple will extend to the current administrative boundaries in order to emphasize the continuity between center and suburbs.

Open House Festival concept was initiated in London in 1992 by Open City, and is now rolled out in over 31 cities annually throughout the world.

Open House Milano is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting great architecture, design and the rich architectural culture in Milano. Our purpose is to increase the knowledge of architecture in the city of Milan. We encourage good design and engineering, and increased public engagement with architecture, planning and construction to promote civil society and community development.
