Corto Moltedo: a new collection between nature and architecture

Corto Moltedo’s FW16 focuses on the brand’s important Italian heritage and exemplary traditional craftsmanship. Inspiration was drawn from 1930’s Italian architecture and interiors for this collection. This relationship between the structural cleanliness, which was typical of the time and nature was the base from which FW16 started. Corto looked to Milanese architect Piero Portaluppi , whose innovative and extravagant style was often matched with progressive tastes of the time, to build such houses as Villa Necchi Campiglio. The property’s exquisite style earned it a starring role in Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love, which too inspired colours and textures for FW16.

Combining these elements Corto has used contrasting textures to illuminate this relationship between nature and modernity, while introducing styles that highlight this season’s focus on more structural shapes. New models have been introduced that have been made for a modern and strong woman and designed to be used night through to day. Bags are made to be special and unique but also to remain practical and useful.
