The great novelty of 2014 is the birth of Per4m, spectacular section dedicated to performance in addition to the traditional five sections which articulate the presence of galleries within the exhibition hall: Per4m complete the proposed Artissima with a solution that gives the character has always been strongly of the experimental Fair an additional impetus in the dual sign of the search for new paths and soundness of the offer in terms of quality. With the introduction of 3 sections Per4m become “cured” of Artissima, or offering stand with monographic exhibitions of museum quality. These presentations where artists, galleries and works are evaluated and selected by curators and museum directors among the most well-known on the international scene. Their participation and involvement leads to the manifestation of an extraordinary contribution to knowledge, research, dialogue and openness to new boundaries, providing the public with a unique proposition for quality and timeliness.

Artissima it continues with the specific determination and hard work, both in Italy and abroad, aimed at bringing in Turin, next to the more established galleries in line with the spirit of the event, the emerging voices of the contemporary scene in a position to propose original and different points of view, new projects, surprising and inspiring, confirming the role of the Fair as the reference event to get to know the new players in the international art scene.
The other big news in 2014 involves that part of Artissima – has always been characterized by a dual vocation, cultural and commercial – which involves the design of a cultural program to accompany the proposed market. A long-standing tradition that Sarah Cosulich wanted to return to the city and the region, exploring new and different ways to bring art outside the context of the exhibition.
Starting from the experience of Torino One who last year had proposed a draft “museum”, involving institutions and places of cultural excellence and contemporary art in Turin, in 2014 the Fair will provide the city a great show, absolutely new, that will draw a new narrative of the city through a reinterpretation of its assets artistic and historical, as well as of his imagery, presented in a unique spectacular site-specific project.

Sarah Cosulich was invited to curate the 2014 edition of one Torino a curator-not-curator, artist, retired, who knows a curious discover and explore: Maurizio Cattelan – flanked by Myriam Ben Salah and Marta Papini – imagined exposure very special in the suggestive Palazzo Cavour. SHIT AND DIE, this is the title of the project, will feed the suggestions from the history of Turin and that of the building in which the exhibition will be set. A story / vision that is articulated along the walls of which Cavour began and ended its existence and that will bring back the life and death chase from room to room, inside this historic home.
