Arte Fiera 2019

It will be an edition that will use its Italian identity as a source of strength, while retaining international quality standards. It will take full advantage of its impressive modern and post-war art heritage but will also extend its gaze to include contemporary trends. The 2019 edition of Arte Fiera (1-4 February at Bologna Exhibition Centre) introduces a new criterion for participation: the galleries have been invited to present a highly select choice of artists (no more than three for the small and medium stands, and a maximum of six for the largest stands). What’s more, there are significant incentives for monographic stands. The sense of this approach is clear: to prioritise specialization and a more detailed perspective, encouraging the galleries to present ambitious projects and a curatorial selection. The response from the exhibitors has been wholly positive, beginning with the fact that around a third of the participating galleries (about 50 or so) will be presenting monographic stands, and these range from Modern artists to emerging talents. In order to support this new approach there will be a campaign of targeted invitations to high profile collectors and new initiatives reserved for VIPs.
