Peaks as far as the eye can see, a road and snow-covered chalets.
This season, the Grand Palais is transformed into a peaceful mountain village to welcome Chanel’s Fall-Winter 2019/20 Ready-to-Wear collection. A metamorphosis imagined by Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, in the atmosphere of a beautiful winter day.
Wearing boots embellished with a platform sole, protected under the tweed fedora, the elegant mountain inhabitants capture the spirit of the romantic dandies while walking in the powder snow.
A palette of white winter, beige, black and dark blue is punctuated by flashes of purple, fuchsia, brick and emerald green.
With pied-de-poule motifs, tartan and large plaid patterns, the tweed shows its masculinity in the suits with wide pants worn at the waist, combined with large coats.
The large pullovers in soft knit alternate with sweaters embroidered with crystals and cardigans with mountain motifs. The ski clothes mix with the urban ones.
Knitted scarves in embroidered chiffon worn in contact with bare skin, large blouses with jabot, necklaces of chains of sautoir and glass beads, plastron necklaces and earrings of white pearls.
The bags combine with the tones of a mountain season: in smooth black or white quilted leather, in quilted tweed with CC interwoven leather buckle. The emblematic bags of the Maison are joyously exhilarated between the spirit of the chalet for the Chanel Gabrielle bag.
The makeup chosen by Lucia Pica is very fresh with a strong masculine touch in the treated and defined eyebrows. The feminine / masculine atmosphere of the collection has inspired the prominent male eyebrows opposite to the fresh cheeks. The girls look red on their cheeks in the crisp mountain air, just like a cold day on the snow.
Eternal and constantly renewed, identifiable and yet different each time, the charm of Chanel illuminates the winter with its bold and dazzling freshness.
